Acts 1:8
"But you' shall receive power, after that the Ho'ly Ghost is come upon you': and you shall be witnesses to Me both in Je-ru'sa-lem and in all Judae'a, and in Sa-ma'ri-a, and to the uttermost part of the earth."
Power is needed for God's work in these last days. Satan fears no empty civilian, only one with God's Seal and Presence. Soldiers of Christ in work and walk.
Friend, what is your greatest desire on earth? Is it to see the power of God work through us and in us? Is it to see the move of God in the Church? Or to become the richest personality affording all that money can buy?
While God gives us all things liberally including money, are we to pursue it like it was most important? When we finally have as much to give, do we care the least, to support God's work and missionaries? Many times, the more money a man seems to get, the more glued he is to the things of the world.
God has not called us to earthly engagements alone. If he has given us a share of the profession which we practice, it is as a means to this end, that we shine forth His Light in our circles. Since everyone cannot be in the same place at the same time, each of us needs to take up the task in our given niche. Remember, it was God who placed us in any and everywhere we find ourselves, by his Providence.
What should make a man powerless in terms of carrying out God's mission on earth, bringing His Kingdom to earth and drawing men to him? Such a thing is found with man and not God. Let us allow the desire for God's presence and power in us and through us to consume us until we have got it. God is ready to pour out His power on us. It seems to be that we are not ready to receive it. Have we given up on waiting? Have we lost the taste of such dissatisfaction from the drought of God's movement around us? Have we gotten accustomed to the strange ways and gods in this strange land? Have we gotten used to the normal (take a look at the Acts of the Apostles)? Do we still have our spiritual sight? Can we yet see that we live in thick darkness and there is yet more harvest? Do we have an idea of the number of those still praying for the way to be shown? Have we given in to the sleep of death? Have we grown so weak as not to lean on him anymore? But, and certainly, will be, we shall receive power. Ask and it shall be given. Ask Now.
Shalom.
God bless you.
