"And I will set up Shepherds over them which shall feed them and they shall fear no more, not be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, says the Lord.
Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute Judgement and justice in the earth.
In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and thus is His name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."
I will raise up shepherds, is a sign that the Church really belongs to God, not any man. The Church is in need of these categories of shepherds raised by God. One who can bring out God's purpose among his Church, who will lead them to Canaan land and enter as well. One whom the people will not fear, neither will they lack the truth. Oh for such Shepherds in our time!
These Shepherds are those that will birth revival among the Church and keep revival.
Look at verse 6, and notice the words, 'In His days', although this speaks of Christ. We are the representatives of the word 'Christ' today ( if indeed you are).
In our days, what will be seen?
Will men be saved? What will be remembered when we're gone? What will we pass to our own closest generation, our children?
What are we using to build them currently? Cartoons and sweets? Education? Nintendos? While this may have a role to play, let us not forget important matters of the law, Judgement, mercy and faith.
Let us not take those lives for granted because we are their closest Shepherds. When we're gone (as has been the case with all men), these children will continue the process.
We need Shepherds who would raise such a people to save their generation in their days.
May God give us them.
May He make us one of them.
Shalom.
