Mark 16:24-25
"Then said Jesus to His disciples. If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it"
The Cross is symbolic of the structure on which Jesus was hanged upon. It's a sign of true believers. It is the thing we must need to go through for the sake of our belief and life in Christ.
This is because we live in a world filled with practices against the faith and the Faithful.
We all have a cross to bear. We have what we may experience, bear, and endure within the hands of those without Christ, sometimes from those who claim to have Light.
God gives us his own cross. There are things God may make us pass through in order to shape us into His desired form. They are usually not palatable but in the end, we wouldn’t have desired less. He is not going to give us a cross that we cannot bear, rest assured beloved.
(Note that the Cross doesn't in any way represent Sin and sinful practice we indulge in. )
God is willing as well to help us through.
However, if we think we may escape this or dodge it, we would come short of God's standard and will not bring glory to Him. Our cross must be, of necessity borne by us as we walk through this pilgrimage and -gladly-
Now this doesn't sound easy, right?
May we lean upon God's strength for therein lies all that we need to succeed as Christians today and till eternity.
O God, our help in ages past and now.
Shalom.
